HomeBranches is a service that helps you keep track of everything about your home — documents, maintenance, improvements, photos, and more — and share what you choose with the people who need it. By creating an account or using HomeBranches, you agree to these terms.
1. Your Account
You need an account to use most of HomeBranches. You're responsible for your login credentials and for anything that happens on your account. Please pick a strong password, and let us know right away if you think someone else has access.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
2. Your Content Stays Yours
Everything you upload — documents, photos, notes, records — belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of your content, ever.
You give us the limited rights we need to actually run the service for you: to store your content securely, display it back to you inside the app, generate the reports you ask for, and share it with the people or destinations you choose. Those rights only go as far as needed to do what you asked.
3. Your Responsibilities
- Keep your login credentials private.
- Only upload content you have the right to share.
- Keep your account information accurate.
- Review privacy settings on your records before sharing.
4. Acceptable Use
Please don't use HomeBranches to:
- Break the law or infringe someone else's rights.
- Upload malware, harass others, or spam anyone.
- Try to break into other accounts, reverse-engineer the service, or scrape it.
- Resell HomeBranches or repackage it as your own service (unless you have a written brokerage or partner agreement with us).
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
5. Reports
HomeBranches can generate PDF reports from your records. Reports only include the records you have chosen to share — private records are never included automatically. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you upload and for who you share reports with.
6. Transfer Packages
A transfer package is a bundle of records prepared for the next owner of your home. It only includes records you have marked as "Transferable." Private and family-shared records are never included in a transfer package.
7. AI Home Advisor
The AI Home Advisor provides general information and suggestions based on the records you've saved. It's a helpful assistant, not a licensed professional. Don't rely on it for legal, financial, medical, engineering, or contractor advice. For anything important, talk to a qualified professional.
8. Subscriptions and Billing
HomeBranches offers a free plan and paid subscriptions. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you chose (monthly or yearly) until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then.
Prices are shown in the app before you pay. Taxes may apply based on where you live. We may change pricing with reasonable notice for future billing periods; changes never affect a period you've already paid for.
Refunds are handled case-by-case — reach out and we'll do our best to be fair.
9. Brokerage Memberships
Real estate brokerages can sponsor HomeBranches accounts for their agents and clients. If you're using HomeBranches through a brokerage sponsorship, additional terms apply — see our Brokerage Program Terms. Your account, your content, and your privacy settings still belong to you.
10. Client Gifting
Sponsored agents and brokerages can gift a HomeBranches subscription to a client. The client owns the account and the content in it. When a gift ends, the client can continue with a paid subscription or export their records — we won't delete anything without giving them a chance to save it.
11. Service Availability
We work hard to keep HomeBranches reliable, but we don't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may occasionally need to take the service down for maintenance or updates.
12. Limitation of Liability
HomeBranches is provided "as is." To the extent allowed by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunity, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
13. Account Termination
You can close your account at any time from account settings. We can suspend or close an account that violates these terms, with notice where reasonable. When your account closes, your content is deleted according to our retention practices described in the Privacy Policy — you can export a copy before closing.
14. Intellectual Property
The HomeBranches name, logo, software, and design belong to us. These terms don't give you rights to use our brand or copy the service. Your content still belongs to you, as described above.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we'll give you reasonable notice — usually by email or an in-app notice — before they take effect. Continuing to use HomeBranches after that means you accept the updates.
16. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California, unless applicable consumer-protection law says otherwise.
